We have all seen them – there are thousands of guides out there about how to set up the perfect blog. In my opinion there is no universal recipe or “one right way” to approach blogging if you want to be successful. But I hope that I can help some of you guys by sharing some of my experiences 🙂

Wir haben sie alle schon gesehen – es gibt tausende von Listen im Internet, die sich mit dem Thema befassen: Wie blogge ich erfolgreich? Meiner Meinung nach, gibt es keine Anleitung und keinen “richtigen” Weg um erfolgreich zu bloggen. Aber ich hoffe dem Ein oder Anderen von Euch mit meinen Erfahrungen Tipps geben und vielleicht sogar helfen zu können 🙂
Share your articles on Social Media
Before I started with Instagram I used to write on a private blog, just as a means to get my thoughts out of my head, my daily inspiration etc. I was thinking that as soon as I published the first blogpost I would have readers instantly – surprise: I was wrong 😉 Then I started with Instagram which grew a lot faster and when I had around 30k Followers I started my blog www.debiflue.com. Every time I publish a new blogpost I share it on my Social Media channels, so that everyone knows there is something new to discover on my blog!
Bevor ich mit Instagram angefangen habe, habe ich ab und an auf einem privaten Blog geschrieben. Einfach nur um meine Gedanken zu bündeln und meine täglichen Inspirationen niederzuschreiben. Damals dachte ich, dass sobald ich einen Post veröffentliche – ich direkt Leser habe – Überraschung: so war es leider nicht 😉 Dann habe ich irgendwann angefangen Bilder auf Instagram zu posten. Je mehr Follower ich bekam, desto größer wurde Eure Nachfrage nach einem Blog. Als ich ca. 30k Instagram Follower hatte und Euer Interesse an meinen Reisen, meinen Outfits und Rezepten so groß war, habe ich mich dazu entschieden meinen Blog www.debiflue.com zu starten. Auch wenn man viele Instagram Follower hat, ist es trotzdem wichtig neue Blogposts zu TEILEN! Jedes Mal, wenn ich einen neuen Blogpost veröffentliche, teile ich ihn auf meinen Sozialen Netzwerken, sodass alle meine Follower wissen, es gibt etwas neues auf www.debiflue.com zu entdecken!
Do what you love and opportunities will come
As I mentioned before (“How I became a Blogger”) , I began blogging just for fun and as a source of personal inspiration. I never really believed that I COULD get as many readers as I have today 🙂 I just did what I loved (wrote, talked about my travels, fashion and shared my recipes) and the opportunities started to present themselves over the years. If you do the things you love and are passionate about, opportunities will come. So just blog if YOU love it and about what YOU love!
Wie ich bereits schonmal erwähnt habe (“How I became a Blogger”), habe ich einfach aus Spaß angefangen zu bloggen. Ich habe niemals wirklich geglaubt einmal so viele Leser zu haben, wie es heute der Fall ist 🙂 Ich habe einfach das gemacht, was ich liebe (schreiben, über meine Reisen berichten, meine Outfits zeigen und meine Rezepte mit Euch teilen). Die Möglichkeiten haben sich mit der Zeit ganz von selbst entwickelt. Wenn Ihr etwas mit Leidenschaft macht und wirklich dahinter steht, werden sich Chancen ermöglichen. Bloggt nie nur mit dem halben Herz, wenn ihr bloggt dann weil IHR es liebt und über Themen die auch Euch interessieren!
You have to keep your readers
It’s nice getting traffic to your blog but it’s even nicer when readers stay for a while. Getting a click to your blog post means nothing when your readers leave your page before reading the entire post. So try to keep your reader’s attention otherwise you are doing it wrong. I would not recommend to clutter your blog with ads – It is way too much and definitely will distract your readers attention. How to keep your readers? Be consistent with your posting so that your visitors will be more likely to return. If they see you actively blog (which can be quite hard sometimes 😉 ) and they like what they see they will want to come back and see what you will share next.
Es ist schön viele Klicks auf dem Blog zu haben, aber schöner ist es, wenn die Leser immer wieder kommen. Einen Klick auf dem Blog zu erhalten heißt nichts, wenn der Leser deine Seite verlässt bevor der Blogpost gelesen wurde. Also versucht das Interesse eurer Leser zu wecken , andernfalls macht ihr etwas falsch. Ich würde empfehlen Euren Blog nicht mit zu viel Werbung zu schmücken – wenn es zu viel ist, schreckt es Leser ab. Wie bindet man die Leser am Besten? Bloggt regelmäßig über Dinge die Euch interessieren, sodass eure Leser gerne zurück kommen. Wenn sie stehen, dass Ihr öfters bloggt (was zugegeben nicht immer ganz einfach ist 😉 ) und ihnen gefällt was sie zu lesen bekommen, werden sie sich automatisch auf Euren nächsten Post s freuen.
No copy-catting
I already have seen so many blogs which are similar to some of more famous ones. Nobody wants to read a blogpost which is similar to some others. So stop trying to be like someone you admire – find out what unique offering YOU have. Just give yourself grace, be patient it takes time to find your voice. You have to focus on being the best YOU!
Ich habe habe schon unzählige Blogs gesehen, die größere und bekanntere Blogs versuchen zu kopieren. Niemand möchte einen Blogpost lesen, der genauso ist wie ein bereits Veröffentlichter. Versuche niemals so sein zu wollen, wie Jemand den du bewunderst – finde heraus was deine Stärken sind und was DU zu bieten hast. Sei nicht zu hart mit Dir selbst, es braucht Zeit bis man seinen eigenen (Schreib-) Stil gefunden hat.
Surround yourself with the right people
When you start your own blog, it’s important to have all the right people on board to assist you in every possible way. I am so happy to run the business with my boyfriend! Even my family is a big part of the blog, Instagram and the things which will come up soon!! Getting new daily inspiration and ideas are so precious.
Wenn du deinen eigenen Blog startest, ist es super wichtig die richtigen Personen an Bord zu haben, die einen unterstützen und unter die Arme greifen – egal auf welche Weise. Ich bin soooo glücklich das ganze Business mit meinem Freund zu machen. Selbst meine Familie unterstützt mich mit ganzem Herzen, ob bei Instagram auf dem Blog oder bei den aufregenden Projekten die ganz bald kommen!! Tägliche Inspiration und neue Ideen von den Leute zu bekommen die einem wichtig ist so so wertvoll.

So true, it’s so important to find your own way of blogging/making pictures.
Sometimes I see some big accounts copying even bigger accounts and that’s a pity because everyone is unique.

PS: I know you said we shouldn’t copycat anyone, but I would like to post my entries in spanish AND in english, but I didn’t like the idea of writing the whole entry in spanish and then underneath in english, so I would like to start translating my entries paragraph by paragraph like you do.
